Hey guys, i need some advice on 240sx's you know, what should i look for when im buying one.. as some of you may know im selling my Acura Legend Coupe. i recognized i want a FR car badly and it has to be a 240sx, im a big fan of Japanese Anime [initial D and Midnight Wangan]... but umm yeah give your thoughts.. thanks
For s13s: Look for rust and water in the spare tire area on hatchbacks, cause the oem spoilers and rear lights leak. Avoid models with sunroofs cause the drainage system can be a major source of rust in the rocker panels. Easiest way to avoid most of these problems is to buy a nice s14 SE model.
Cracked Dash FTL Try to get a Coupe If the Dash is Cracked Don'T Get It. Check Electrical Wires Make Sure Your Accessories Work (A/C, Water Pump, Alternator, Power Steering) Check the Serpentine belt make sure the A/C is not skipped Quarter Panels are In Good Shape These are some of the Things That I found were Very Expensive to Fix. :rocks:
By the way, check out this site. They have a couple nice s14's and they're in texas. So I guess they're close to you. http://www.allzcar.com/ForSale.html
cool, the cars above my project car budget lol im looking to pay no more than $3,000 , $2,500 is more realistic but i would absolutely love to get my hands on that red kouki s14 thanks for the link anyway
Rust is the only real issue, and only really under an OEM spoiler, the sills, and the suspension towers. I disagree with avoiding a sun-roof model, I had one in the beautiful (...lol) UK summers, and never once had any issues with it. It was also surprisingly good at cooling the interior down.
okay i was wondering the same thing about the sunroof, because my Legend has a sunroof and it doesn't leak at all, and its a 17yr old car. hopefully i can find one pretty soon thats worth buying to many guys have this 240sx that are turbocharged and you know what that means, its been drifted or raced many times.. i just want a stock 240sx [se] you know a blank canvas
