Okay so im considering importing a car from overseas, but im kinda skeptical about the whole importing thing , so i thought i should surf over to JDMC to get some opinions and possibly gain some sort of knowledge of this "import" thing.

so yeah my first question is , Has anyone imported there car from overseas (asian area mainly) to the states?

and secondly, who has considered importing? but backed out. why?

give me your thoughts/opinions and facts.'

    Thanks guys.

    P.S
I'm currently doing my own research on the topic also. but others opinions are always helpful

    Thanks again.

Im not sure if anybody on here has thought about or imported a car. But you might contact
    http://www.japaneseusedcar.ca/jdm_nissan_used_car.htm

They would probably be able to answer alot of questions you have. And i've heard that importing into Canada and then going up there and picking it up is the way to do it. I was told this by some members of Tennspeed.com forum. There are quite a few Skylines and Evo 5s in Nashville that are completely street legal. Im not sure how the laws are in TX, but you might want to ask those guys. I was thinking about moving back to MO. a while back and wanted to bring my car with me. They gave me all the info. :D

    What Car Do You Want???

There are Many Ways of Importing Now that are much Easier.

Im In the Importing and Exporting Business.

    The First Question is

What Car Do you want to Import???

    Because.

    1) Any and all vehicles that are at least 25 years old in age, can be imported into the USA FULLY EXEMPT of federal DOT (NHTSA) and EPA restrictions. This means that we can immediately supply you with JDM, Euro, and other vehicles that are 25 years old or older! There are several makes & models from which to choose including Classics, Vintage cars and rare Collectables too!

    2) Any and all vehicles that were manufactured to Meet all of the D.O.T.'s Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards as well as the EPA regulations, are immediately eligible for import and/or Repatriation. This means we can supply you with many makes & models of USA-built vehicles as well as European and other "U.S.-Spec" cars! In Japan, many late model American cars & trucks can be found with very LOW mileage and in Fantastic condition. In addition, there are hard-to-find classic Muscle cars, and even some collectible US-Spec Euro-cars in Japan!!!

So with this being Said I Can Now Help you Import Any Car thats 25 years Old and Cars that meet US-Spec Safety Standards.

    Canada...

    Canada

The Car has to be Bought in Japan,
then Shipped to Register in Canada
    then Driven/Towed to America.
Any Car that is Registered in Canada
    is Legal in The States,
but You have to Return to Canada
    for Restoration of Registration... :googly:
