I figured it's time to post some pics of my Miata. My camera is old and crappy, so sorry for the poor quality but it's something. ^ That's my Celica next to it.
I'm working on it. First I need a clutch, shift boot, and shift knob. The stock knob is so flimsy. I'll probably be making my first purchase from Daniel soon. The clutch is starting to slip like crazy, which is my fault. Clutch kicking at 5K can't be good for a worn out clutch. And my shift boot is torn and I'm getting odd smells from the trans tunnel, also probably my fault. :banghead: Good thing I just sold a truck today and I'll be getting a commision check on thursday along with my paycheck.
Parts Coming I just ordered a new clutch, rubber shifter seals, leather shift boot, and last but not least... a Trust shift knob from Shop Response!
I hate waiting for parts. Anyway, I started taking everything apart today before work. The rubber seals for the shifter were demolished. I took the shifter out to get to the lower seal, but now I can't get the shifter to go back in. And the trans fluid doesn't look to healthy. So Kevin...:help: Lol
I work from 1-7 tomarrow. And its not vital to put it in tomarrow because the seal goes on from below it, so it has to be out to put the seal on. Damn UPS Ground!!!
Well, my parts finally came in. The clutch will go in Wednesday. This is the Trust shift knob next to the stock one... and my new Exedy OEM clutch! (Working on getting a new camera, getting sick of everything being blurry)
looks like my Cusco knob haha i need to figure out where we're going to drop the trans. i think i will be cleaning out the garage tomorrow :ermm: feel free to come over and help. oke:
I'm not free till about 7:30ish. I'll swing by on my way home from work, unless your doing something then. And I think it's the same knob just with a Trust sticker instead of Cusco. It feels the same, or at least from what I remember of yours.
I may have found rims... http://www.mazdaspeeddevelopment.com/news/2008/12/17/mazdaspeed-exclusive-wheel/ They're cheap and AMAZING! hsnap: *EDIT* Spec Miata only. In order to get them, you have to be a registered Mazdaspeed member, which requires you to run Spec Miata. Unfortunately I'm not a professional driver (And if I was, I don't think I would need the discount...I would already have money, but whatever)
The new clutch is in and the Miata is running again! :rocks: And I found a site that sells the Matte Black 5Zigen FN01R's but they're $188 each. Still not bad, but I'll probably go with the XXR 501's for now. (At $85 each, who can argue) But first...fix a few things and get coilovers.
Well, when Kevin and I put in the clutch we found that I have a leak in the rear of the valve cover gasket, so I got a new one today. Figure I might as well paint my valve cover while I'm at it too, but I don't know what color yet. Also, my pass. headlight burnt out, so I ordered some HID's for it.
yeah it's the driver's side output shaft/axel seal. Looks like the subframe was replaced on it as it had a Mazda sticker on it with a part number. It was delivered to Anderson Mazda in CL.
I canceled my order for the HIDs. Pete (Specter) and I will probably be getting a house soon, so I'm kinda pinching pennies and saving for more important stuff (coilovers, lol). However, I did decide on a color for my valvecover! VHT Wrinkle Paint in Red on a NA8C. Now I just need to hit up a bunch of local stores to see if they have it or can order it.
