hi all! n00b here. since I see not too many Protege's here I thought I'd post up some pics of mine in hopes to see more Pros. chargespeed replica lip from ebay. megan links installed last week
thank you! im a huge suspension guy. i'd rather feel some high corning g's than straight line acceleration. lol yes, its similar to the subbys. i've done a few suspension mods on buddy subes, and yep pretty close. love the handling in these cars! as fas as engine mods, like i said, not into speed all that much. so very mild mods. these engines have glass rods and snap super easy. many people have issues when boosting these cars so i'll stick with handling. momentum driving! lol the few mods i do have are: mp3 ecu mam catless midpipe custom modded stock airbox with k & n filter 1sty grounding kit racing beat rear axle back muffler kartboy short shifter with bushings
Hey looks great!! i used to own a msp.. and yes the rods are glass.. mine broke.. lol but sold it now.. i have a 626 manifold if you wanna do the swap.. need it gone so i can let it go for cheap.. pm me
thanks man. yea, i have a bunch of buddys whos pros have had multiple engine replacements. lol luckily mines still in one piece with 122k. i'll let you know about the offer for the intake mani. pics from last night.
Looks great! Maybe stronger rods and pistons are in line? Of course later on in the build. I agree with suspension work first. I will build the brakes/suspension first then the motor comes next
Yeah, i loved the handling of the MSP cuz it had LSD and the factory upgraded suspension. but the motors are the weak link.. lol anything over 10psi will blow it up quick..
well 10psi is relative to what turbo is being used. But I see your point, 10 psi on a smaller turbo would seem to net decent gains no?
10 psi is a lot for those engines. lol so I started my plaid fetish this weekend. :icon_lol: I have zero experience when it comes to interior fabrication. Not that hard at all. Made a few mistakes of course, but overall I really like the way it turned out so far. The fabric was easy to work with and forgiving as well. If I messed up and there was a crease, I just simply stretched it out. Turns out there I didn't have enough fabric to do the door panels like I wanted to. But I may order more and do that in the near future. I still have some material left for some smaller things should I feel the need. Now I know this is not everyones thang, but I really like it quite a bit. :icon_thumright: Love it or hate it...its all gravy. :icon_lol: :icon_lol: probably do the shift boot as well. didnt have time this weekend. lol
looks good, not really my thing though if im being honest but quality work cant go without props! I think it would look better if the rest of the interior was black (seats, headliner, carpet, dash etc...
thanks man. yea, i know thats not everyones style, but I like being different. the stares and confused looks I get crack me up! lol went to meet last night, then a canyon drive. plaid was accepted. lol they all liked it. heres a pic from the drive and you can see the plaid pretty easy. I laugh everytime I look at it. lol
I have a Protege5 too...I was wondering if you guys know any good mods for the car. Mine is stock and sadly it's automatic.
