Ok well I spent some time on the bumper in the last few days. Right now it really only needs to be wetsanded and buffed and it should be nice Its definitely not perfect but from a few feet you cant see any imperfections. Then I just need to paint the lip and im good for a minute! random other shot. I mounted my boost controller differently and much better since this pic. Also changed the way the radiator is mounted so its not 2mm from the turbo mani. Ill post pics of it later.
How did you put the brackets? I want to do the same thing since my car is in the body shop. It looks sweet!!!!!
just to update you guys. I have had a lot going on lately.... I STILL havent totally finished the bumper. I just have to wetsand and buff half of it, then paint the lip. I blew my head gasket somehow (getting oil in the coolant), i guess from old age, over heating, and just general abuse but whatever I will be doing a pretty complete rebuilt once I get a few more bucks. I already have a new timing belt, head gasket and pistons. It still drives fine for regular driving so its not like "blown" completely. I put a new oil pan gasket on last night too. All I need to do the rest is valve stem seals, crank seals, new bearings, ARP head studs, and rod bolts and then a little time and I should have a fresh motor. Then comes the tranny, I need to locate a new LS as mine is just plain fucked. I put new fluid and synchro mesh in the other day and it did nothing... so thats my update for now. Sorry its not impressive. Maintenance sucks...
How did you put the brackets? I want to do the same thing since my car is in the body shop. It looks sweet!!!!!
I mounted a flat bracket to the back of the fog light casing. Under the bumper support there is a single M6 x 1.0 hole on each side where I mounted the brackets to. This way they are not mounted to the bumper and you can take the bumper off without having to disconnect the lights. The bezels were glued in, then reinforced with bondo. I will try to get some pics up.
Thanks. Its normally called a header but for a turbo car it is called a turbo manifold to be technical. Ill get some new pictures up soon I promise!
So my head gasket's been blown a little for a while but it started getting bad so I had to order some ARP headstuds, new head gasket, and timing belt. Ill take some pics when I put the new one on, ive never done it before so any pointers?
Let me know if it works. I was told by a few shops different things. One told me it was the head gasket that was bad that's why my car smoked. But another said the engine was bad. Who the hell knows now. Well let me know if that resolved your problem. Was your car smoking or just made a noise?
well headgaskets cam blow in different ways. Mine was getting oil in the coolant but most get coolant in the oil. You will burn white smoke if its getting into the cylinders too. So my problem may be the same as yours even though the effects can be different. Check your compression and if one cylinder has a good amount less compression than the others then it is most likely leaking out the gasket around that cyl. I will post up pics of the new parts when I install them.
I still havent gotten around to doing it! Im waiting on any of my friends who really know what theyre doing to help me out. I could probably do it all myself, id just rather be supervised by someone experienced so I dont miss anything stupid ya know. I planned on having it done the other day but they keep flakin out. Next week hopefully it will be in!
Since im gonna be doing a complete shoot soon I only took a few pics for now so you guys can see the outcome of the bumper. I must say im very pleased with it and no one believes its spray paint lol! I lowered the stance of the car too. Scrapage a lot now, but I dont care, it looks awesome haha.
i know i've said if before, but i'll say it again... OMG A HONDA OWNER THAT KNOWS OFFSETS AND FITMENT there i'm done, smack me if i say it to you again, car is dope as always... makes me realize i have no good pics of my car in it's newest configuration... kevin?
whats an offset? haahaha :slap: I honestly dont know much about wheel fitment and offset other than the basics. I just know what looks good and have played with the fitment for hours. I think its pretty close to where I want it now tho.
