I cleaned up the engine bay. Valve cover had a nice coating of grime. Intake had a PVC pipe and a clogged/rusty filter. Replaced it with a filter I had since my AW11.
Front and rear discs and pads, rear sway bar end link, front ball joints, outer tie rods, plug wires, compression test (185 across the board!), registered and insured it. I still have the rear ball joints, distributor cap and rotor, parking brake cables, radio, and a windshield wiper motor to replace. Drivable now, as long as I park on a flat surface and avoid precipitation Oh, and it idles at 1800rpm and I cannot find any vacuum leaks...
I always liked those MR-2's! A friend from work was selling his for $1200. I should have bought it. Keep is posted on your progress!
Yep, just needs paint and interior pieces that are damaged/missing. Overall pretty straight and rust free.
Looks good!! and is there a IAC on the car? if so that may be clogged and also is the tps adjustable? that may be wrong position.. and for a vacuum leak u use soapy water and spray all the hoses intake gaskets..
I bought these for cheap. Rare TRD Alumni-K. They were designed for the widebody SW20 (TRD 2000GT) and then offered in different sizes later. and an idea of what they will look like (this car has Work Equips, which look similar)
great pickup! Yes these wheels are very nice indeed. I have always liked them. there are a few other rims that look very similar. For those of you who dont know what a TRD 2000GT is, let me refresh/enlighten you:
So, I'm picking this thing up from my aunt on Sunday... 91 Turbo that needs a little work, but is overall much better than my current 91 NA. I'm becoming one of those people who have a shit load of the same car.
That is a nice ride, sell the N/A SW21 and keep the turbo one! BTW your Aunt is pretty cool to be rockin a front lip and an exhaust hsnap:
Thanks guys. It has 80k on it but needs some work (trans, turbo, brakes). I should also mention that I am getting it for a third of what I paid for the NA.
