Ejected motorcyclist struck by several cars, killed on 210 freeway

IRWINDALE - A motorcyclist was killed Monday night after crashing on the west 210 freeway, California Highway Patrol Officials said.

The motorcyclist, identified only as a male at this point, was traveling west in the car pool lane at 10:45 p.m. Monday when crossed into multiple lanes for "unknown" reasons, officials said.

CHP officials are looking for witnesses of the accident and ask for any person with information to call (626) 338-1164.

Sometimes, just sometimes… we go through some immense pain in our lives that we learn something of ourselves. We learn who we are. Not all people can do this. Trust me. I’ve seen a ton of people get hurt around me yet fall back into the same perpetual bullshit and never really learn from their experience.
When you learn this “thing” of yourself it’s the most amazing thing if you could actually step back and notice it. Realize it. Focus on it. And see what it is you did with yourself to be a better person.

When I say better person it does not mean help the homeless, give money away, or do favors for people, those are things you should be capable of doing regardless of whatever you have or will go though, that is just a natural way of life to help others in need.

But to be a better person, improving yourself. Learning a new language, taking up a sport, going back to school, dressing better, bring your friends back together, learning to write. These are all things that once accomplished you sit back and go “whoa”.

My mind had cleared. It has settled. My scars have healed and are starting to fade. Each day passing seems to be more beautiful and I feel like no one else can see it but me. No one takes the time to close their eyes and feel the breeze. To walk through a garden and smell each flower and almost feel that new scent you’ve never taken in before. To listen to a song, not speak one word and listen to each strum of the guitar, each symbol of the drums, every lyric being spit from the vocalist, and let the whole damn thing consume you. let the whole song take you in and make everything else just go away.

Wake up early, grab a cup of coffee with someone you care about and watch the sunrise.
Take in that early morning scent and remember your childhood, and know how fucking lucky you are to be alive and well off. To have your family and friends who love you. Each day is a gift. Embrace it. Cherish it. Adore it. For one day…… it will be your last.

These thoughts consume my mind each day. I try very hard to not let it bring me down, and lately, it hasn’t. I start to smile for all the wonderful things that are around me. My dad has grown to be such an amazing guy. My mother has taught me the meaning of strength. My friends have shown me how much I mean to them. I love them. I never though I would be so lucky to have each and every one of you in my life. You’re all welcome in my home anytime of the day. You need someone to talk to, I’d love to. 4am, who cares. It’s those moments of being half asleep, stumbling to the door and one of your friends asking if he could come in for some coffee and conversation.

I need that in my life, that blender of mixed fruits. Each one of you a different flavor, a different mindset. With all of you offering something different to the table. All of you opening up my eye’s to things I’ve never seen before. Fresh, New, inspiring. My life is what it is because of people like you. I’ve been able to see you, inspect you, observe you and see who you are and if you are what I need in my life. Luckily you have made it this far into my life. Luckily I have made it this far into yours.

Take that time, it’s sounds so typical but seriously. Take that fucking time. Listen to what everyone has to say. Stop dwelling on your own hypocritical bullshit and take the time to hear your loved ones out. Open your ears, hearts, minds to the possibility of other life out there than your own. You want to pay attention to you, of course. But remember who’s with you, who’s next you, supporting you, listening to you, and try to return that favor with the same respect.

Remember the best things in your life. Throw out the negative nonsense and smile. Smile for this is your day. This day is beautiful. This day someone loves you. This day someone needs you. This day you can find the pleasure in something so simple and pure and you can go to sleep with a smile. Go to sleep and dream. Dream about what you want and who you love, and when you wake up. I will be right there to help you. Because I have learned from my pain, and will not let those around me feel that alone. Not ever again.

Eye Witness to Accident s0x from Honda Tech

Eye Witness to Accident s0x from Honda Tech said:

"*Please note that I DID NOT HIT HIM and I DID NOT have anything to do with the accident. I just happened to be a witness to it and I called for help, IMMEDIATELY."

The stretch of freeway that this happened on is NOTORIOUS for accidents, because of the way that the freeway curves and people always drive too quickly. This happened about 3 or so miles before Mt. Olive, kind of close to the Miller brewing plant. At night it is very dark and there isn't much around.

This is exactly what happened as best as i can recall:

I was driving home around 10:45 approximately and i was in the fast lane (Lane 1). I was traveling around 75 miles per hour and i noticed a yellow hid and what appeared to be a 6000k hid shaking kind of erratic in my rear view mirror. At this point i could hear a bike coming and coming fast. I looked in my rear view mirror and it was obvious that the rider was struggling to keep the bike straight (which makes me think that he came around that corner to quickly or that he had swerved to avoid something in the road.)

He ended up cutting me off and going from the carpool lane to Lane 3, if i remember correctly, but my memory is a bit hazy... There was a big rig approximately 3 car lengths in front of me, 2 lanes over. His bike seemed like it was accelerating instead of slowing down... I don't know if this was instinctual or if there was a malfunction with his throttle, or what. He must have been going around 85 to 90 mph at the time of impact.

All i remember seeing is the fiberglass on the bike shattering and him flying into the rig. I have to assume that he was killed on impact, not because he was hit by a car. By the time he would have (i say "would have" because it was so dark and he was wearing black, I never saw him touch pavement) hit the ground, I had already passed the point of the incident.

I looked in my rear view mirror and saw several headlights coming from behind and instinctively decided that stopping my car would then and there would be suicide, so i called 911 immediately and was on hold for a good 2 minutes before anyone answered the phone. I told them exactly what i saw and they said they were sending help. In shock of what I had seen, I prayed all the way home. Ironically there was another accident not even 5 miles up the road that had traffic stopped.

I know that if I had pulled over to try and pull him off the freeway that:

A) He would have most likely have already been hit by those other cars and
B) I would have gotten hit as well and i also know that its very very probable that he was gone before any of those other cars hit him.

I've also always been told countless times that if someone is involved in an accident, it is imperative that you don't move them in case of a broken neck or a broken back. But it keeps replaying in my mind, and I can't help but question myself over and over and over. It's eating away at my soul, and I cannot express enough how sad I am that this happened to one of our own... and even worse that maybe, just maybe, I could have helped.

When I got home, I checked the CHP website to see what had happened. Approximately 4-6 min after my call to 911, there was another logged call of a Honda hitting him. (which makes me think that one of those pairs of headlights that i saw in the rear view mirror probably hit him right after he landed, considering that it took me a good 2-3 min to get on the phone with an actual operator). I looked up the incident on Google the next day to see if he had lived or not, and when I found an article that said he was killed... my heart sank

This evening on my way home, I was informed by my girlfriend that they released a name, so I looked him up. When a Honda-Tech thread showed up with "RIP Armando Flores Jr.", it felt like I died inside.

Over the years I've met many amazing people and some awesome friends because of owning a Honda, and even though I never met or spoke to Armando, I consider all of the community to be somewhat family. I haven't been able to get this off my mind for the past two days.

If you read this and you intend on flaming me, please save it as I'm already extremely sad and depressed with the fact that I saw this happen... and that even worse he was part of the Honda-Tech family.

I just wanted to shed some light on the events that happened that evening and possibly give some closure so it wasn't such a mystery. Ive already called the Baldwin Park CHP office and given them all of my information and will help in anyway I can. I'm also extremely disgusted with the fact that people did end up hitting him and didn't stop. My deepest and dearest condolences to his friends and family my prayers are with you and with him.

I will see you all at the Eibach meet in his honor. I'm very sorry for everyone that was close to him. This weighs heavy on my heart as I'm sure it does yours.

On the way to Eibach this morning we passed by the spot where it all happened and the memorial to the side, and as we where passing by the opposite side of the freeway, i noticed the basket of flowers knocked down and the candles... so on our way back, I told Mizzark , Bizzen and henry to pull over so we can chill and stand everything up...

*sigh* as we where standing them back up along the side of the curb, we notice a peice of the bike and picked it up and put it near the flowers and candles... .. -_- that brought my heart down and im sure the rest of the hommies with me...
