I wanted to share with you my baby when I was stationed in Germany! It was a fast ass car, but looked like crap, hehe. It was an Inline-6 motor with 240 whp and matching torque. Wicked car! The German who owned it before me tuned her a bit. I paid $1000.00 USD for it...a steal!
dude !!! ive been looking all over the place for a BMW M3 (but i wan two door) but its still nice..and you paid only a grand..down here theres a guy that owns an E30 M3 its red with 180,000 and he wants 15,000 (which i thought was a deal unitl i saw your car..) good buy dude
$15k for an E30 w/ 180k Miles? Depending on the year I wouldnt pay more than $12k with that many miles.
E30 M3 IMHO, I have been in BMW country and they can last an extraordinary amount of time without an engine rebuild or a tranny swap. Unless the car was prestine and looked like this: ] If they are not looking like these models, they are not worth it. Do not get a rust BMW because they are known to rust fast when they begin thier "rust" movement. Also, the mileage isn't bad. Mine had over 300,000 km on it when I sold it and left Germany. That's 186,411.3576712 mile (lol conversion calc.) My car was not prestine by any means, had some rust damage and engine bay rot. I didn't drop the clutch until 226,000 km (140,429 miles). The story behind that one: I was driving along *doot-doo-doo* and stopped at a red light. Light turns green and I push the clutch pedal in, push the gas and start to ease off the clutch pedal. No clutch engaged. "WTF?" I said. I then tried 2nd gear..."WTF?" I said. 3rd gear allowed me to drive regular so I went to the local BMW dealer and said "Get me a clutch bitches" (in German, "Erhalten Sie mich eine Kupplungsweibchen!"). So, the E30 you were seeing had roughly same mileage as mine. Depending on the year and body type and what condition it was in, I can help you determine it's $15,000 price tag as valid! Let me know man, ok?
And the car was very clean,New tires, New Brakes (i beleive they were Brembos),leather wasnt torn, its was a wife driven car..++++ options..so its was worth 15K but i can get a 350Z for a little under 20K like around 18K
IMO go for the 350Z mostly because its faster and newer but hey your decision and either way you're getting a nice car
you motherfucker... i always liked those cars. torque y little drift car with that oh so wonderful german touch
This car was wicked during the wintertime...slap some snow tires on it and go drifting in the biggest parking lot in Kaiserslauter, GE!!! You get get through all 5 gears and be spinning and gliding like a mofo! A few close calls with the loght poles in the parking lot, but eh, who cares!
nice bmw man! a friend of mine was stationed in Germany as well before he got sent to Iraq. he bought a bmw, 03 model ithink?, for $1,500 over there. i still laugh of his stories of his 1st time on the autobahn.
ya it ran good, the guy he bought if from was heading back to the usa and didnt want to take the car with him or somthing to that fact.
Yeah, the car must have run. BMW to Germans is like Ford is to Americans. My first time on the autobahn was when I picked up my car on base and didn't know how to drive stick! I learned within the 20 minute drive from one base to the other! *Smiles* I'm the man...
a bmw will take care of you for a life time if you take care of it, my dad still has his 86 with 260k on it and it dirves so strong:thumbup: and in 92 he got a 92 325i and i got the car in 04 with just over 200k on it and it never gave me any issues
