i need to know how to remove the exhaust system on a 6th gen ex. they have these little springs between the flanges and i cant figure it out. also the header if possible. i know it's kind of a stupid problem but sometimes the small things are the most frustrating . thanx!!!
...i have an lx so my cat converter is up higher than yours. i would assume your cat is right after the header underneath the car. (sorry, it's been a while since i've been under a car, lol ) anyway, yes, you unscrew the bolts where the springs are. they may be a little bit of a pain, but they'll come off. once you get the bolts off, you should be able to remove your exhaust piping. and don't forget to take the exhaust pipe hooks off of the exhaust hangers. installation is the reverse of removal...just make sure you re-tighten the bolts w/the springs good and tight so that your exhaust doesn't rattle. hope this helps.
the springs dont do anything but pull the flanges together, theres not like some special trick to take them off, just undo the 2 bolts and the hangars, it only takes like 5 minutes.
okay just making sure cuz they looked like a pain in the ass but i really appreciate the help guys thanx!!!
werd, that's exactly what i was trying to say, but i got too elaborate, lol good luck with taking off your pipes der meister.
