ok so i have a b18b and an ITR trans that im planning on putting into my del sol....i was wondering what i need...like if i need a new wiring harness or anything...i know i need motor and trans mounts......what else would help the swap go easier? thanks
i think you might need a wiring harness....depending on what year the b18b came out of and what year your sol is...not sure on anything else....i havent done a swap yet...
Well you would need a Del Sol VTEC wiring harness since that is the model that came with the b-series. Can also use the del sol VTEC axles and whatnot...good luck with the swap I hear those are fun motors for a del sol
if the car is a 95 and the motor is a 96, you need to switch the distributor to and obd1 one because the motor is obd2.. and the rest is basically just wiring and little stuff.
just the distribtutor is different, thats the only part you need to change, and just find an obd1 computer to match..which ever you choose.. ls, p28, etc..
i dont think you'll need the vtec harness, if you are going to keep it full ls, you would need it if you were going to do a ls/vtec, but you should be ok with the stock harness.. there maybe a few things to wire in, not 100% sure. it should be mostly plug and play
that is actually real nice, i have a friend that did a ls/vtec with type r pistions and its a beast, but without the vtec head it wouldn't have as big of a difference, not 100% sure. ask around see what people have done and the results.
Woot. I got a 96 LS motor. It was already in an eg when I bought it so it pretty much dropped right into my ej1.
DelslowSi: here is a site that help me out with my harness when i did my accord lx to h22a1 swap, they also have the distributors, just becasue i was looking for when i come up with the money to put the b18c on my EG6 si. http://www.rywire.com/store/index.php
