Well, I was fortunate enough to be given a free car by a close buddy of mine. That's right. Free. Nada. Zero. Nothing. Zilch.:woot:

But, don't think this 90 Nissan 240SX fastback is perfect.

It's got quite a bit to do, but it's ok. The mod bug has been biting at me for months with my IS300. This just saves a great car from being screwed up by my sick desire to do some serious road course action. That's right. This will not be a street car, will not be a drift car, will not be a drag car... Ok, it will see the strip once or thrice, but it will live it's life by the SCCA/Solo2/NASA handbook. It will be a track whore... a dirty, dirty track whore.

    It's name shall be... Synistar13.

    Here's the dirt.

    Problems:
    it's a 90 240SX. I hate pignoses.
auto tranny, but it doesn't have a tranny in the car.
    SOHC...:pooping:
rear wing rotted away, so it's left with huge holes in the hatchlid
3" deep crease in the passenger front fender
door hinge pin bushings are shot, so the front of the doors crunches the back of the fenders.
    faded paint

    Plans:
    Rollcage
    5-point harness
5-lug conversion, Z32 front brakes and master cylinder, S14 SE rear brakes.
    S13 redtop SR20DET swap
    5spd swap
    '91-93 front bumper
    springs/strut combo
    stripped interior
    side-dump exhaust
17x8s in the front, 17x10s in the rear
    J30 LSD diff
projection headlights, hidden under sleepy eyes
flat black paintjob, for that ohh, so "I don't give a shit" look.

Let me know what you think, and I will keep tabs on this and update as the car comes along.

when it doesn't run, then it's that bad. LOL.

and pignoses are not that ugly. They do offer more frontal cooling area.

idk if the ducts are actually hooked up correctly fronts don't really matter on cooling...

lol. true, the ducts are plugged. I was talking about cutting them. I gotta hack up the bumper for the FMIC anyway.

Tomorrow, my buddy, Rich and I will be in several boneyards searching for 5-lug 240s for a parts car. He needs a KA24DE for his wife's car, as well as the ECU and wiring harness, and I need a 5-lug swap, clutch hydraulics, and maybe some S13 doors with roll-up windows. Pics of our finds will come. Anyone need anything while I'm out?

Well, my trip to a boneyard was a bust. All I could find at one was a 93 fastback with most of the driver's side literally ripped off of it. I will keep searching others. I have heard rumors of some later-model S14s that are decent scrounges, but I have to check them out. Will post up later.

yep. I work for Toyota, so I'll wait for someone to buy a wheel upgrade package, and gank the stockers. I'm doing this as low-buck as possible, while getting the most performance. These will not be my race wheels, nor my street wheels. Just some bo-bos to roll around the shop on.

LOL. It'll look like another 240 on steelies, except there will be another lug, and have huge brakes behind them.

Our department's the same way with alloys, but we don't give a rat's ass about steelies, so they usually get sold for scrap. I'll just grab them before they get thrown out.

Nah, I haven't found any decent Toyota alloys I've liked, anyway. The Camry BBS's look great, but they have too big of a diameter, and not wide enough.

Well, I found out the hard way that Toyota wheels don't fit Nissans. The hub on a Nissan is about 2mm too large for the centers of the Toyota wheels. Fawk. A customer smashed a curb with a alloy and bought a new one, and I ganked the remains of the rim. Took it home, no go. Looks like I gotta buy my good rims, just to get the car to roll on the 5lug, or wait until after my SR20 to install the 5lug.

And I've been thinking about these rims. About $150 a peice, front and rear, and in the size I need.
