Here's a how-to on the cabin replacement filter for the 02-05 EP. No tools are need...just your hands. Time to complete should be less than 10 minutes. You can go to the dealer or buy the cabin filters online. You will need 2 of them. I went ahead and skipped the online stores and dealer. I went to my local AutoZone and picked up a set of Bosch cabin filters. The box comes with 2 two filters. Total cost with local tax was $27. Is that cheaper or more expensive than the dealer? Not sure. AutoZone was 2 minutes away from my house. Can't complain.. Here we go. 1. Lower the glove box. There is a glove box retainer on each side of the box. You will need to squeeze the tabs in and pull the retainer out from inside the box. Do this on both sides. This was from the outside after removal so you can get the idea.. Tabs 2. With the retaining tabs removed from both sides, carefully lower the glove box out of the way. 3. With the box out of the way you should see the cabin filter cover. You will now need to remove the cover. Pull up on the tab and lift cover off. 4. With the cover off this is what you should see. Make sure you don't mix up which filter frame is for the left and right. Pull the first filter out grabbing onto the tab. You will need to slide the second filter to the left and then pull it out. 5. Old filters. About 20K miles on them. This is the easy part. Just push the filters out from the bottom up and drop in the new filters. Make sure you match the flow arrows. The filters are marked for flow as well as the plastic holder. 6. Reinstall everything in reverse order.. 7. Put the cover back on and re-secure the glove box. You are done. Here's the ECU for shits and giggles...
