    here's my "clean" EG8 Ferio

i owned an EG8 Ferio when i lived in Okinawa, it was nothing special, just had rims and an exhaust made by Blitz. i never lowered it cause i couldn't bring it back to the U.S. when i left...anyways, here's some pics of my first love:)

there's my wifee with the Ferio:) it was a trip trying to teach her to drive a RHD car. we almost crashed going 5KM/H:) it was funny.

what can i say, i went through my ricer phase when i was living in Okinawa:) i only had those euros on for like three months, and then i got tired of 'em and switched back to the factory ones cause they looked a lot better. as for the rims, when i was living there i would buy a new set of rims and tires every year...only because the service stations on the military bases would have a wheel and tire sale every year. i eventually found a set of 15" gram lights at a local junk yard and threw them on the car before i sold it, kinda wish i had kept those wheels now.:banghead: you could always find some good stuff at the local junkyards there. mainly because when americans in the military left Japan they would junk their cars most of the time rather than dish out the money to have the car inspected for JCI (Japanese Compulsary Insurance) and all the other stuff a car needs to go through there to be road worthy. i couldn't bring myself to junk my car when i left, so i put it through all the inspections and even got her a full tune up...i thought i was losing money in the process, but i ended up actually making a grip of money. ended up selling it to a buddy of mine who had an old DA Honda Integra XSi that was all beat up to crap. i'm trying to get him to send me some pics of the car, cause he said he dropped it and hooked it up more...but anyway, getting back on topic, at the time the wheels and the euros looked good to me. like i said, it was just a passing phase. :) i'm just glad i was able to absorb the car styling techniques from there, take what i learned from my friends there, and incorporate it little by little into my new civic that i have now. also glad i got to experience owning a real JDM car. keep in mind, in Japan they have all different types of car styling...some go for the clean look with modifications that have a function, without going overboard...the style we commonly refer to as "JDM" style right now...then there's others who go all out with body and performance mods (outrageous body kits, exhaust kits, euro lights, coffee can mufflers that point down at the ground, huge useless wings, etc.), what we call Rice...then there's the VIP camp...and then there are some that kinda incorporate all of those different styles into one thing...so over there it's about whatever looks good to the owner of the car yet still works at the same time. i guess the u.s. is kinda like this too in a way...with the guys who's cars look like they came out of a eBay seller's store...and then the Domestic guys always ragging on those that drive imports...you get the picture. but people are more worried about what other's think of them in America, so most people tend to jump on a band wagon. you know it's funny, when i lived in Okinawa i never noticed a bias between car enthusiasts...unless i was around Americans...over there you just kinda go with what works for you, and no one really dogs you about your choice in how you fix up your car. peace.:)
