For those of you that have never seen one here are some pictures of my Transtop in operation, for some reason it was only offered as a option on JDM & EDM cars. They tend to be very tempremental as there are so many micro switches but if you look after em they are really cool :rocks:

The trunk lid goes up vertical like the first stage of the roof operation, you have to open it with the key, the only problem is you have to have the rear window up for it to operate & I'm forever forgetting. As for the weight, you can save weight by having a carbon trunk lid & roof if you really want or adopt the approach I have & mod the engine to give you extra power, I've also stripped out all the aircon stuff which saves about 70lbs & 10 bhp if you use it. If its hot take the roof off !!!
Looks cool but im a functional kind of guy. Heck i dont even have a spare tire or carpet in my trunk lol. i shouldnt laugh, ill have a flat tomoro.
damn i want one!!!...if i had that i wouldnt of dropped my damn roof on my toe and chipped the corner on the cement
Ouch !! I don't know how you guys cope lifting the roof off, I'm sure I'd have dropped mine a few times by now. Ever thought of a carbon roof to reduce the weight ?
Here is a picture of a carbon roof made by a european company I'm sure they are cheaper in the USA this one is about $400 !!
Looks great but I've heard the internal mechanism breaks alot, don't know if it's true.. The oem roof doesn't weigh that much I take it off and on by myself with no hassle.. And I would definitely choose the glass top over the carbon top anyday..
Well yes they can be tempremental if you don't look after them. There is something like 13 micro switches that have to be made for it to work. Handbrake on, out of gear, rear window up, side windows down etc etc. Its like anything with an old car, regular maintenance & grease the gears ! Glass roof that sounds cool did'nt know they made them.
Yes, they are made by a company called Ameripol: They are polycarbonate, not glass I believe. It's about $500-$600. It only includes the glass top you will have to swap all of the hardware and interior plastic panels from your oem roof to the Ameripol glass top. Colors are bronze tint or dark blue tint. Bronze is a lighter %, blue is a darker %. They are easy to install, and come with an installation video. Ameripol was also the official manufacturer of the dealer-installed "factory" spoiler on all delSols (delSols did NOT come from the factory with a spoiler - they were all dealer installed). Their stuff (spoilers and panoramic roof) are OEM fitment quality and fitment. The "glass" roofs were also dealer-installed options. I think the dealer charged $700-$1000 for the roofs! Some of this info was quoted from internet.. :rocks:
