okay for all of you that don't know, i'm still rocking the F22B1 in my Accord Coupe [aka CD7] but don't worry, i'm going to be swapping on a H22 head soon [yes that's right, a F22B1 block with a H22A1 head] anyways last night at about midnight i hear a knocking on my window... yeah, so i open it up to see brandon and shaun [no not the locked up shaun, different shaun] they are all like, what you doing? instantly i know something's up and we meet in my driveway where i see a CD5 [that's a sedan version of my car] idleing. apperently shaun bought a new car then... the best line ever. "I got tired of the stock engine so, *pops the hood*" "you swapped in an H." after the usual "what'd you pull on the dyno" talk Shaun: 198hp @ 5500 134FPT @ 5600 Me: 134hp @ 5500 171FPT @ 5000 [yes i pwned him in torque] we decide to shut up and take it to the street. there is this nice little area which is a four lane devided highway [so two lanes on our side] with a stoplight on one end and exactly [i know i've measured] 1/4 mile away a bridge/overpass thing. we don't exactly line up the first time since there was a car behind us and it was not really a race [we had to drop Brandon off at the finishline after all] but we slowed down and then went. i was bogged in second so he got the early lead, however at 4300rpm it was over. pulled on him so bad that by third i was ahead and just kept on going till 110mph [no real reason to keep going since his car is running the stock ECM and fuel is cutoff at 115mph. so we drop Brandon off and return to the starting line. line up and the light turns green. i though that i was going to loose [come on an H22 vs. F22 sould be a no brainer right?] well first was even, second i pulled away by 1/2 a car, third i was ahead by a car, and forth i was ahead by 2 1/2 cars... i know he thought that he was going to beat me... but that didn't happen. yes that's right people, a F22B1 stomped a H22A1 now before you go and say that his car was not modded and yours was, lemme tell you how close the mods are. both had shortrams by AEM, both had VTEC controllers, i had a catback exhaust his had a header... there that's it. all i know is when i headswap my engine it's going to be a beast
Well an Accord is heavy even with the H22A, still one is slow and the other one is slower, kill preludes on the daily with the GSR, yes please get this race on vid, the whole four minutes of it
heavy is 2850lbs, without a driver, a quarter tank of gas, and 53lb-a-peice 18" wheels. http://rapidshare.de/files/7115735/DSCN0120.MOV.html not terrible. and I make more wheel ft. lbs than that. 147ft lbs on a fubar'ed dyno. it was reading really low.
Well real good torque numbers, me I just installed CTR cams made 163 whp, no tuning whatsoever, 134 tq, yes low, just waiting on my Apexi vafc, never been on th 1/4, but ive spanked some H22 BB's I dont know why they dont keep up with a mostly stock gisser, numbers on H22 sound real good but still cant keep up, just thought an accord was a little heavier than a prelule, curb weight on my car is 2700 pounds more or less
There's a guy on Honda-Tech with a two-toned CB 4dr w/ a built all-motor H22 swap running 11s, with full interior and stereo. I keep forgeting his name. He was featured in SportCompactCar a few years ago, back when he broke into the 12s.
