im gettin into jdm help me out

aight i got a few friends that r into the jdm thing at first i thought it was alright but i didnt think it was my scene i was into body kits and i still am a little but i dont like the whole big bulky ones i like the ones that just are a little bigger than stock and show off the intercoolers i am about to get a 91 civic hatch i hope its nice and its got one of my biggest favorites in it its a 5 speed i hate to drive automatics its just like u feel like u have more power but i still wanna put rims on it but the biggest concern about goin jdm is that i dont really understand anything about wat b20 means and things like b16 b18 da db and stuff like that i know b18 b20 and b16 are all motors and da and db are types of hondas but i just dont know wat kind or wat the 16 in b16 means so everybody tell me wat all this means cause i really wanna know i have been thinkin that a b16 is a 1.6 liter engine but im not sure so email me and give me the 411 on all of this pimpr575@aol.com thanx

welcome to the crew!! i had a problem with the same thing before i got into the import scene. after a bit of reading it will come second nature to you. yes b16 is a twin cam 1.6 liter, then it will be followed by a letter and sometimes another digit number. this is to further classify the different types of engines.. if you have any other questions just ask us :thumbup:

 

welcome same here it is all just some numbers till u start doing research and learning what the engines are and chassis and start putting two and two together but welcome and just ask and we probably know the answer there are a lot of cool smart and friendly ppl on here

h22 block and head
h22 pistons
f22 crank and connecting rods

b-series trans

92-95 civic hb

go fast

 

go ls turbo in your ef hatch with some 15's and some nice jdm body and interior peices.

 

personally a B16 is the way to go with your EF hatch. it drops in easy and obd0(motors made before '92) B16's are a dime a dozen and hella cheap. i put a B16 in my 90 hatch back in '01 and it was pretty quick.
