importing a RHD honda

if i were to buy a RHD EG/EK...how much you think it would cost to get it registered in the US and how long would it take and how would i go about getting with the DOT to approve it?....and any other useful information will be helpful....


this will help me decide on my future car purchase...

 

ive been told having the car shipped to canada and having it registered there is the best way to go, that supposedly makes it easier to bring to the us and get registered here

 

ok so ill let you in on a little secret. maybe its not such a secret but check it out and see what you think! this company is in the business of bringing cars over. CTR for sale now for 1,290,000 yen. which somewhere around 12,900 usd. really clean. and they would, i quessing, have alot of info on legalization.

wow.. thats a BADASS hatchback.... So... any idea if i bought that car how much it would be to get here and make it legalised? is that even possible?

 

Of course it is possible, because it has been done many times now, but it is many headaches (at least from what I have heard). If I had the money, I would definitely consider importing a 96+ Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4. MMMM...or a Skyline. Dunno...:slap:

 

so are the chances of getting that car imported and on the road for under 15k even possible?

I think you are way over ur head and need to read and research more

 

i emailed like 2 weeks ago and asked and still have got no response....if you look on the page of country frequently exported to you will notice that the US is not one of them......
