I have a 2000 EX coupe and I just got my wife to let me spend a little money on it, I was just wanting to get some input on what to do first and if its pointless to spend to much money on an automatic :help:

What I want to do is put an si lip on it drop it a little, throw some 16 or 17's on it, then intake and exahust with headers, nothing to crazy.

I just want it to look and sound good, I don't want a farty sound, what brand of pipe has the best sound for the buck?

    anyone?

Thanks for any input! :googly: :rocks:

    Automatic to Manuel Swap

Its Not Pointless to add some Goodies to an Automatic Because There are way to Turn your automatic to a Stick by Simply swaping Tranmissions... Im Unsure of what Area Your in but Shops can do the Auto to Stick Swap for Around $600 to $1000 Depending on Service Charges The shop That I Deal with Did a Auto to Manuel swap for $600 because that Parts was On hand Just Laying Around from an Extra Clip....

Yeah I could do that, but my wife can't drive a stick and my car is her "back up car" you know, when hers breaks down or something.

I was going to buy an Si but she bitched at me till I caved in and got the EX.

    CHICKS!!!

16x7.5 wheels, lower it, add a lip and add some nice audio upgrades (speakers, head unit, one 10" sub)

that will be more than enough to make a nice daily driver

i think i would be careful about the exhaust you choose. ive seen alot of ATs with header and exhaust have the, as you call it lol, farty sound! i think as long as you keep it clean and pick the wheels and lip wisely, you should end up with a really nice daily driver! good luck!:)

it's not pointless to hook up an automatic. i've seen plenty of nice looking rides that shocked me when i saw an auto shifter inside...and plenty of people in japan hook up their auto trans skylines all the time. i'd say do it, that way you can have a fun car to drive, and your wife can still drive it when she needs to.:)

if you are still looking at getting exhaust, my old auto had a megan racing exhaust and it had deep throaty rumble. but if the wife is ganna be driving it will the noise bother her?

I don't think she'll care, if she has to drive it, it would only be about a 5min drive to work and I have a 45 min drive to work every day.

Speaking of which, does an aftermarket exhaust sound loud and annoying at about 2800 to 3000 rpm?

I don't know if I can deal with that every day, unless it sounds sweet! :)

mine wasnt, i can try and dig up a old clip of it, and post it on here, 2k-3k not to loud, when i had just speakers in the car you could hear the exhaust often, when i stuck the sub in, i could barely hear it.

i used to have a 97 civic ex automatic, with an aem cold air intake, dc header, and a tanabe racing medallion exhaust and it sounded great. it was slow as hell, but sounded great. the exhaust also had a removable silencer that i used if i was driving long distances that made the sound basically inaudible. go with something that has a removable silencer, it will be great for trips and city driving. as for the suspension, skunk2 has a great shock/strut/coilover setup for your car that runs about 500 and still gives you a great unbumpy ride and 5 inches of adjustment. and the wheels, depending on what color your car is, green gab knock-offs, or baby blue gab knock-offs. Si lip is good, nice and clean. that describes my old car almost exactly (exchange the gabs for rota slips) before it got stolen. in san antonio might i add. so it might not be too great of an idea after all, austin is the same way, cars get stolen all the time there too.

my automatic civic ran an 18.3 in the quarter. i was gonna put a 75 shot on it, but what would be the point, i'd probably have run high 16. but it was worth it. i loved that car.
