You should try PaintShop Pro, it is very easy to use and very inexpensive compared to Adobe. If you are interested in Photography and Photoshop it won't be a waste of money as the experience and knowledge you get from learning is worth it.

Its definatly worth the money. I got my version for free (legally) i took a few class's at school, and they handed out a copy of a classroom version that gave out serial numbers to students.

Im sure you could pic up a used (authentic) photoshop on ebay.

If you want to learn Photoshop and want to know if it's right for you, just go to www.adobe.com and download the 30 day trial.

Just Photoshop is just photo shop. The entire Creative Suite 2 is Photoshop cs2 , Indesign cs2 , Illustrater cs2 , Acrobat7.0 Pro , Designer 7.0, Go Live cs2, Distiller 7.0, Image Ready cs2, & Adobe Bridge.

I think it's around $1200 now brand new from Adobe. Used to be a little more but I think CS3 is coming out sometime in the near future. Not sure though

Try 'The Gimp'. Its actually a Linux application, but there's a Windows version out there as well. I have never used Photoshop, but I read somewhere that there's a mod for the Windows Gimp that makes it look just like Photoshop. All 100% free and legal. God bless Open Source!
