JDM bumper pole

I guess that's what these things are called. Well I've been wanting one since I've seen my cousin's car with one. But her's doesn't retract back into the bumper like the one's I've seen, is it the samething? Anyways, I've done many searches on the net trying to purchase one, but i cant find a site that sells them. Anybody know where i can find one?

the reason cars have those is because in japan, the parking spaces are so compact, so when the bumper on the passenger side gets within so many inches of a car or wall it lights up to let you know that you're close to the wall or car, or any other obstruction. i think.

 

im not sure if they have a perimeter type mechanism in them, but from what i have gathered about the bumper pole (and driving my mother-in-law and father-in-laws cars) is that it lets you know exactly where the edge of your bumper is. so you can squeeze in and out of the very tight places. its almost a "must-have" thing. i dont have one on my car, and there are alot of times when i have my wife get out and wave me into a parking spot. and about them lighting up, some have an led in them. it comes on when you turn on your parking or headlights. hope this helps!

 

Oh snap, it lights up. That's awesome, now i need to get one. I just wanted it to have another piece of JDM on my car. But it also lights up, that's a major ++.

nope... passwordjdm.com sometimes has them, but they are rare and overpriced

those things are just too overpriced for me to want to buy one...i don't really see a need for one in america, with the wider roads and bigger parking lots we have. i remember that AutoBacs sold ones that just stuck to the front bumper...they still lit up, but were much cheaper than the OEM ones. the only draw back is the AutoBacs ones weren't telescopic.

check ebay they are on there all the time the only thing is modifing the bracket to fit our cars and the pole switch as well but finding one with a harness and all they go for like 199-250 i dunno i want one just waiting on the right price

i got one too, i love it.. its mad cool, and still alot of people dont know about it, but they are real easy to wire up. you just gotta find one at a good price..
