Ok JDMC. I have felt a little left out for awhile, I haven't had a project for a long time. I see all you have your threads going. So I want a project thread too. Here is my 92 Integra I just picked up today. Overall the GSR is in great solid shape all original, no mods. 1 Owner, yes you heard right, 1 owner. I couldn't believe one would own a car for that long. It has 168K miles with all service receipts, I mean this guy kept every single receipt, I mean every single one. :attention: Well let the documentation begin. Here are the pics so far i took as soon as I got it home. Just got it home. Front view. The hood is pretty bad, actually the whole top clearcoat is peeling. Don't mind that, all new original Aztec Green paint to come. All original, including the emblems with GSR L.E.D. spoiler. Headlights, all clean. Front bumper, excellent shape. Back and side view, some dings here and there no dents! Taillights are clean, no cracks or moisture condensation. I am a huge fan of this color! Super RARE! Side view of door and mirror. Motor can use replacing, they are a little slow. Don't mind the lame wheels, they will be gone.
Side view, scratched from shopping cart. VTEC Moldings RARE, but maybe I will do JDM??? My Zeta! How did that get in there. Ok back to the GSR. Super Duper Rare B17. Yay!!! Unmolested engine bay, again see above original B17. Yay!!! Yes Sir or Maam, Made in Japan! Door panels and rear panels, great shape! Dash is excellent, a couple of vents need replacing the swivel doesn't work on one or 2. Center console can use a new piece as well. Trips to the Acura dealer are coming. 8KRPM Redline, 168K miles. Not bad for a 16 year old car. All receipts from day 1 are in this folder.
Again the receipts, this guy had a OCD over these receipts, all documented over $20K spent over the lifetime of this Geezer. Original owners manual with business card from the dealer. Overall the car is in good shape, needs some work but I guess that's the fun part. OK lets start blowing money on this thing.
not too bad of a deal. looks pretty clean besides the hood of course. and ABOUT TIME YOU GOT A PROJECT GOING!
DAMN Daniel!!! nice nice nice!! how you found such a clean untouched gsr i'll never know. but that things got some great potential! looking forward to the thread!!!
Engine Degreased Ok. The engine was degreased today. Looks much better, but still needs a thorough detail and I will need to pick up some new OE parts ie, valve cover, gaskets, seals, wires, plug cover, distributor cap and battery. As you can tell this project will be headed towards a very clean, Japanese classic car look. With very mild mods, but extreme attention to detail, OEM and tad of JDM. Everything will be done right.
I will order a brand new set of 1 piece headlights with our next JDM Honda parts shipment. Most likely in mid-May.
New PPG Windshield for the Integra. New windshield was installed today, the prior one was an aftermarket one with a huge crack down the driver's side and a huge rock chip. It was replaced with an OEM PPG windshield with the original visor tint. Looking to get paint next with all new weather stripping.
As soon as MINT set or New set (near impossible but they are out there, someone is hording a set.) pops up I will buy them. Otherwise I am looking for WORK 16" RS Deltas again MINT or NEW (near impossible). Saw someone on another forum selling them new but wrong thread pattern 5 x 114.3) I would been all over them if they were 4 x 100. Otherwise I will be riding on these choices that come up in the meantime. Acura Fat Fives (only if NEW) Mugen RNRs (silver and only if MINT) 99-00 Civic Si Wheels (only if NEW). SSR 15" Type X (Polished if MINT) Blitz Type O1Cs (Polished/Silver if MINT) The GSR will be aimed towards the prestige, classic look of Japanese Imports in the early 90's in So Cali. Very clean, subtle mods with a look geared towards OEM and hints of JDM not the slap everything on JDM that the car looks ridiculously obsessed with JDM. Just choosing out the little parts that make a difference. I am a sucker for this type of clean style. Those who been in this long enough to know, will know what I am referring to.
Work RS Delta Here is what the RS Deltas look like. I had to scan a old pic I took from one of the first battle of the imports at LACR in palmdale. If memory serves me right this is from 1994 and I believe the owners name was Dennis. Anyhow I will pay a $100 shopresponse.com credit finders fee if anyone can find me these Work RS Delta wheels 16" in 4 x 100 bolt pattern. Silver or Blue cap is ok. NEW or Mint (I mean mint). Here is where I saw the ones for sale but wrong bolt pattern for the Integra GSR. http://www.houston-imports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=441103
