I didn't clean every speck. I just used degreaser and sprayed it all.

The motor will be strayed with high temp paint. The valve cover will be powder coated and the header (once built) will be heat coated 'polished' silver.

Why not spend a little extra and have something pretty to look at? Plus the heat coating will help keep engine bay temps down.

Yesterday's FML moment: breaking the welded nut off that the seat bolt, bolts to. Nut will be welded back on in the spring. :banghead:

you know it's fuck'n funny how me and James were JUST talking about you not using air tools on suspension bits for fear of breaking/stripping bolts while we were installing my RUCAs

and now you go and do this, with hand tools... way to fail man... way to fail

 

Yeah. It threaded 90% of the way in very easily. Then it stopped. It was maybe 2-3mm from being in all the way, and it wouldn't go. I figured this may have just been some rust, since the door bar used to bolt in there, under the seat rail. So I just went to crank it down a little more, figuring it wouldn't be a big deal, then it snapped off and turned freely

If the guy pays me on Monday for the wheels (like planned, but we all know how that goes sometimes), I found a hard top in the UK. I know a guy who is shipping over a diffuser for his R32 and has a crate coming from there. He offered to split the cost of shipping.

Basically, it comes out to me getting the hardtop at half the going price of them. About what my wheels are worth.

Then I will get the 2zz going, then worry about buying wheels again. (I REALLY want Advan RGII's in white)
