My 200K mile EG start shaking when it goes over 80mph, both steering wheel and chassis (BTW I have no way to listen to CD cuz the shake, hahahaa), but the steerling wheel will stop shaking once its past 95mph... weired...

Anyhow, it all happens after I was speeding up with my friend one time, i think i hit 130mph+ (my gauge can't show, max 125mph, ha) but my friend was doing 130 and I was able to keep up, so I assume I'm over 130mph, after that, everytime I hit 80mph the shake will start, it's just annoying, can anyone give me some suggestion? I'm thinking the following reason:

    1. Motor mount getting old
    2. Axle need to be change
    3. Wheels need to be change (I running on donuts, hahaaa)
    4. Chassis need to be completly spot weld again after all these years...

I probably not going to do anything until I have the $$ to do the ITR and 5 lug swap, but meanwhile I do want to know wut is the real reason and if I can do something about it (not hitting 80mph+, I can tell... but you know how hard it could be... hahaaaa)

    Thanks ahead!

First of all, it is illegal to go that fast on a public road. Just letting you know. Next, it could be any of those things. Your car is 13 years old man, give it a break! My money would be on either #1 or #2. If I were you, I would replace both of them, and see what happens. Otherwise, take it to a specialist and have them check it out.

Thanks man! You're the first one will try to help! LOL

Anyhow, I agree that it is illegal to drive that fast on public road, but if you're going back and forth LA County and SD County (about 2hrs driving) 2-3 times a week in mid-nite 3am, I doubt that anyone would stick with the "speed limit":rocks: thats how I end up hitting 80mph, but 130 is definetly seldemly happening, swear!
Anyhow, I have the same thoughts the car is getting old, so that's y I trying to save up some $$ to get a ITR motor and the 5-Lug conversion, in that case, I'll need a new set of Motor Mounts, plus new Axle hahaaa!

Again, Thanks for your response. :)

I think that wouldn't make that much shaking though, would it?

could be tire balance, Bent wheels, Flat spots on the tires.. Blown Shocks.. bad axels.. could be a # of things .. i would start out at the wheels and tires.. move to the shocks then onto the control arms and bushings....

Ya man ... i had a Buddy that past away Free way Racing not too long ago.. Becarefull with that ... im not your mom or anything but it can be really bad if you get hurt.. not only do you hurt yourself, your car, your friends, your family,... but who ever else is sharing the road with you as well...

as i always say ... "if your going to be stupid about something, be smart about it"

i agree with everyone else, and it could be just a need to balance your tires. when i first got my new wheels and tires to replace my donuts, the guys at sears didn't balance them correctly and my car had similar symptoms. the steering wheel would shake, my passenger seat would shake, and you could feel something wasn't right. but after i got up to speed, and stayed at a constant speed, everything would stop shaking. so, that just might be your problem...but then, like the other folks said, it could also be a number of things due to how old your chassis is. hope you get it fixed tho...and drive safe...it pisses me off now when some a-hole is driving recklessly when i have my pregnant wife in the car. well, good luck bro, and also thanks for the pointers on the J-Spec folding mirrors. i appreciate it mang. Aloha.:rocks:

i know what you mean, the drive from my house to work is a boring 15 mile stretch with nothing but farmfields all the way. but the fastest i'll go is about 85, and only for the first 1/4 of the drive. cops in North Dakota don't play around, they'll pull you over for going one mile over the limit. track racing is cool though. did you get your car fixed yet? Aloha:)

Na, I will do it next weekend (after got my paycheck, I live paycheck to paycheck...). I'll do the wheel balace and alighment (problem has been confirmed)
I really think one day we should gather bunch of peepo and rent a track and do some racing, this really should be encourage rather that street racing.

i sorta live paycheck to paycheck too right now because i keep finding things for my car online. lol:) well that and because supporting a pregnant wife costs a little more too.:) now i'm saving up to get my JDM folding mirrors painted, as well as get my suspension lowered and balanced, and put new tires on my wheels too. peace.:)
