today i said fuck it, and i ordered some ARP head studs. im going to just replace the gasket and continue looking for a 4agze motor to boost. my compression numbers were 157 175 150 180 so that looks fine. if it's something bigger, in my spare motor goes i guess. i think a HG replacement, coolant flush, TRD thermostat, and oil change should do it all. expect me to tear into it around monday or tuesday
comp was fine??? so coolent is getting in your oil somehow, where is the water pump located on that motor?
water pump is on the outside facing the passenger 1/4 panel. i ordered a water pump, 170 degree F thermostat (stock is 180F) and those ARP head studs i alredy mentioned. whatever the problem is, it will be fixx0rd for sure. hooray $8 thermo and $20 water pump lol and i already have the HG :thumbup: when in doubt, replace it all haha. and dont worry, the radiator and coolant lines will ALL get a good flush before being attached to the flushed out motor. and a oil and coolant change after 300 miles. OH! another weird thing: when i start my car in the moring, or after it sits for 2+ hrs. it runs off 2-3 cylinders and sounds like a WRX. i had the exact same problem when i got water to the spark plug valleys and in the dizzy. so maybe water is seaping into the cylinder and bogging it down at that time, and burning off under normal opperation? causing me to overheat and all the other problems? idk. this is weird... i checked my plugs again when i did my comp test and they looked more coolant coated/overheated look on them. idk. something is wrong inside. im still looking for a 4AGZE to replace the motor with though.
evidently 2 day shipping doesnt warrent someone to send it that day, or the day after... hell, none of my parts even left the warehouse. i checked all my order statuses and theyre all at the 'processing' stage. this is rediculous. doesnt help it's a "holiday" weekend. so i guess mail doesnt come monday. this blows. i want to drive my car. on a side note, i did sell my s13's quarter window light-up shades. so theres some more money to fund my project. now to sell my JUN B-series valve train...
wow... coilovers are "in transit" right now. shipped from NY on friday and now they left Hodgkins, IL this morning i believe to be delivered. woot. hopefully ill have coilovers tonight to slam my non-moving car :roflmao:
the wait is over. i still have to adjust them, but they need to settle first. teaser! out of the box and ready to install makes it look fancy. i have no idea what this means, but im sure it's in there to make them look legit. final product yes i went with D2, but i must say, i am impressed with the initial quality. very light weight (aluminum?) and they came with new adjustable pillow ball front sway bar links. so this will do for now. i plan to take it a half inch or lower in the front though. so w/e. i have a HG and shit to fix. im not concerned about the height now. plus ill end up getting corner weighted and aligned. so suck it up. oh, and rear wheels will go on soon. dont worry about the weak ass rear

haha yeah. a photoshoot is in store once i get my shit together. probably in a week or two. the result of taking a shitty pic and attempting to make it look better. snapped it on my way out the door around 6:15p. but atleast you can see how it looks in daylight. as i said, it needs to go lower and i need more wheels
