Time to spruce up my brakes!! Scored on a EF3 t-bar!! July 2011-A new look!!! The work begins!! Thanks Jesse and Dani for coming over. Nothing like wrenching, drinking and eating!!!!!! Its my shirt hanging down...my belly is NOT that big!!! Too many Stella's!! All done for this!!!! GALES!!!!!! The 2011 EF Meet Last but not least.....LOL October 2011-Starting to focus on my audio system. Going old school as well!! Not done yet.....
They both, front and rears, had Brembo cross-drilled rotors. When I did the big brake swap I had to use the VW Corrado rotors in the front. I have been too lazy to put blanks on the rears.lol
I found my old A/D/S/ PQ8 amp. Its going to run my front speakers again. I also got these a few weeks ago. Two 8" Rockford Fosgate Punch Audiophile sub woofers brand new in the box. These are circa 1995 drivers. Perfect for small sealed enclosures. I am so excited on how its going to sound. Going for sound quality so tight punchy bass is what I want. No booming sounds like ass bass!
Very nice bill! Where did you get them subs!?! I would love to find some old school subs like that for my sedan
There a lot of "old school" audio on EBay. I contacted the seller when went through email communication. Was a little cheaper for what I wanted. Just search "old school Rockford, Kicker, PPI..." and watch the old school goodies come up. CAVEAT...do your research first!!! Some of these old amps and stuff have been repaired with different internals. So just beware!!
Thanks bill, I'll check it out one of these days, I really need to change my clutch so that will come first
Bad news...ran new power wire and RCA's to the above amp and it played for a little and then shut off. I was stumped. So I took it apart and a little plastic piece fell off. Well it was the gain adjuster for one of the channels. So, I am going to go with plan b. Use my Alphasonik GP2075 75wx2 for the fronts. More power than the A/D/S/. Let see how it goes.
It probably can be fixed but the amp was bought in 1991 so parts may be hard to find. Also the company no longer builds amps and has been sold a few times in 20 years. I may be shit outta luck on this. If so, it will make a nice wall decoration.lol
Ok, I intalled the GP-2075 amp and had static notice on the right channel!! So I checked my wires and they were good. Went over to the amp and switched the speaker wires...right to left and left to right and the noise moved to the other side. DAMN, I was pissed!! Also when I adjusted the gain on the amp it would crackle and cut low and come back up. Long story short...this amp is jacked as well. Two strikes. I have one more ace up my sleeve!!!
