The Top Speed Challenge

I want to extend this out to the community... Who here can achieve the highest Top Speed? Just a friendly battle, I am curious to see who here has the fastest vehicle! Preferably, the safest way possible, on a closed track or with a dyno. But if you must, like me, take it on the mean streets, then do so! Post proof if you can...honor system here folks!


Panzer's EP3= 138 mph on Highway 83 in North Dakota, with current vehicle setup as outlined in my n00b post...lol

 

aproximatly 160 mph(speedo only read to 240km/h=149mph)
in a euro spec crx w/ cams and bolt-ons
it was insane.
like pucker factor 7 at least.
i plan on beating that with my new 240sx will post as soon as it happens

 

165 in my talon tsi on I-88 in illinois...i never want to do that again...soooo freaky

 

Integra: 129 on I90 in IL
CRX: never powered... thus, as fast as i pushed it
240sx: 116 on I90 also. (at about 5.5k i think, so i can go faster as soon as i make my car more stable haha)

today i hit 102 on the way to school. rt62 :rocks:

 

120mph on I 20-59 in the delsol, it could have went a bit faster but it didnt feel so good so i backed off. i figure 125 max till i rebuild my engine, #4 piston ring is dying a slow death lol!

 

147mph on hwy 82. IS300
145mph on hwy 82. Accord H22 swap.

been 175mph in a build TT Supra. I75 on Tennessee.

 

i hit 121 in a bone stock V6 camry in the rain then i backed off cuz i realized that i was going over 115!!

 

you guys know it is a felony to exceed 100 mph in the united states... ok, so ive gone 125 in the del sol

 

When I was stationed in Germany, My 1984 BMW M5 sedan got up to 280 kph... That is pretty damn fast for a 1984...

I was in stationed in Kaiserslautern (Vogelweh Air Station), and had a place in Otterbach!

 

sweet i have some friends there and my car club(unlimited visionz) is based there

 

i had my CRX speedo pegged and in fifth i was running about 5000 rpm. 120+ mph. i have no idea how fast that was but it was too fast for a CRX. really dumb. and i drove my friends 93 supra back from Chicago (Sound Performance) to Cape Girardeau. i raced some kind of sport bike (CBR i think)on I-55 and hit 150. he was still wasting me! lol! that car has 450 hp. but i got a little nervous when i saw the speedo!!! lol!!

 

Care to elaborate? I think I saw that club...03-05'? You guys run Euros or JDM?

 

anything but id have to say that its mostly jdm's but there are euro and domestics.
in my chapter its mostly jap' cars but there are a couple of vw's and bmw's opel a turdo'ed focus with svt swap and an awsome fiat turboed its insane realy small with like a 1.2l turboed and its prety fast i havent raced him yet though and I'm working on voteing in a new audi a3 and a turbo jetta and we're not just american there are about half german in my chapter

 

Wow...I like the Opel cars over there. The Calibra was cool. I really like the VW Corrado too. I liked how funny the Opel "gangs" were, thought they were fast with thier fart cans. Wish I had my EP3, I could have smoked a few.

 

135 with no vtec and revlimiter at 7000 rmp but a GSR can do that!! but as soon as i get a new ecu ill go LITTLE faster ;].

so far with my twitchy MR2, i hit about 107 with the girlfriend in the car. i need more downforce and a wider stance before i get up there again. the 185/60-14 tires dont like to hold the road.

 

had a 97 civic witha jdm b17 swap that got up to 142, and it was an automatic. in the pink wheeled gsr i got up to 136, and in the 07 si i got up to 143. i didin't feel nervous or scared in any of them. all three cars feel stable even at top speeds. but i have ridden 170 in an 240 with an sr20 and an s15 front end. that car had a fully built top and bottom end and was not street legal, but he drove it on the street anyway.

 

In my teg i've gotten up to 133. I messed up my antenna by doing that.
