This may seem a bit odd but..

Well I have a pesky snake in my back yard that keeps scaring the shit out of me every time i smoke a cigarette, Ive also seen little baby snakes squirming around so who knows how many there could be (im terrified of snakes BTW) and i want to make some sort of trap to catch the little bastards. Does anyone know how i could go about doing this or any sort of "bait"? Im not sure if they are poisonis or not, from what ive seen they are long, black and faster than I could ever imagine a snake to be.

So someone please shine some light on the subject of snake wrangling for me!:wave:

 

hmm i used to catch alot of snakes when i was younger. being from rural missouri you kinda get used to it. are you wanting to catch to keep as a pet or just get rid of them? if you're able you could get a bb gun and hone your sniper skills. (did alot of that back in MO too! ) or you could build a trap. something like this:

good luck, and dont be scared of them, their terrified of us! from the description kinda sounds like a basic black snake. long, black and fast, and non poisonous!

 

Glad to know it cant put me in the hospital if indeed it is a black snake! haha. Ya i just want to get rid of them so i can have my smoking area back. BB gun wouldnt work just because i have a thick garden he hides in when it sees me. That trap seems like a good idea i also saw a funnel style trap i found on google i may try.

 

take a shovel and chop off its head. my aunt used to pay me 25 cents for every snake i killed with a shovel from her garden.

6 snakes or 60 rodents... i'd take the snakes imo

however if you really want to get rid of them i can't help you there, snakes are heat hunters, thus traps really don't work since their food is living. someone out there might have a trap avalible, however idk on it's viability

I'd rather use a BB gun than a shovel but again they are really fast and they disappear in the garden when they see me.

I saw on dirty jobs where they were doing "Vermonators" yesterday and they put moth balls around to get the snakes away. Wont kill them just make them not want to stay around them. Then I wouldnt have a snake problem and I wouldnt have to kill it or get near it!!! heh

I'm terrified of snakes but i can swim in the gulf with sharks..eh who knows

 

Well, killing snakes is a bad habit..You should not kill those snake since the have also life. Catch them instead.
