I was saving up for some rotas and a camber kit for the civic and my F%*ing A/C quit on me:mad: , I took it to a shop and they said that my compresser is dead and that with labor is going to cost me about $850.:(

Now I know most of you are thinking forget the A/C and just drop it and buy the rims:rocks: , I live in Texas, it's October and 93 degrees outside rightnow, it sux balls driving 45 min to work/home every day sweating my ass off.

Part of me wants to just buy the rims and drive with the windows down this fall and fix it later, but the other part of me hates driving some where and showing up with sweat stains all over my shirt... DAMM!!!

you can get it fixed cheaper than that if you look around. The compressor is about 200 bucks from an auto parts store. Find someone who knows what they're doing to put it in cause most garages charge a ridiculous amount for AC work.

IF you get one from the junkyard, make sure you FLUSH IT, flush your AC system, install a new accumulator/receiver drier, and orifice tube. If you don't flush it and change those parts it will just wear out again quickly. Dont take it to a jiffy lube type place either.

SO TRUE, its a fact that girls (especially ones with long hair) will not roll in a car with the windows down

    More HP please

Since my a/c if F'd up will I get some more hp if I cut the compressor belt off?

I looked at it, and that belt is only for the compressor and it runs over a pully for tension adjustment.

Yes you will. My compressor just fried so I chopped that belt off and the car is noticeably quicker.

Well I did it... and DAMM!!! it feels like a diffrent car, I didn't expect that much of a change, I'm thinking about getting a BLOX intake manifold I saw one in a mag for $200 for my car I have a d16y8, I wonder if it's worth the money?

97-ferio, you put a greddy intake on your car right? did it give you a nice hp increase?
