"MAN" my del sol all wet from the rain last nite..Does anyone know how to fix the weatherstrip rather than get new ones from HONDA? i heard they runaround 2 sumthin to replace them!!! DAMN! that expessive...:help:
Nah man, you'll need to get the updated (read: post 1995) seals for it to be fully repaired, and even then there is still a chance it will leak depending if you have been in a wreck. The front seal over the windshield is the main one that leaks though, if you wanted to just try that one.
all the sols i have seen leak at the windows and i know how hard that shit is to replace. there are exactly 42 authentic steps from honda on how to do it correctly and you have to have alot of shit to do it. i might be able to scan the steps and send them to you. just tell me if you want them.
The previous owner of my sol had the roof fly off while driving due to a faulty latch it got scrapped and bent just a bit so that why I haven't changed the weather strip cause surely it will still leak a little because of that hit the roof took once..
I think if it flies off I wouldn't turn back to get it.. i would just find another one of a donor sol.. I can only imagine it flying and landing right on top of very expensive hood or windshield
You should try applying silicone grease to all the seals first. Even the most worn seals can be revived & made waterproof again. It does work, I think there was a thread on here called targa top repairs take a look at that.
