What would a 1990 Eclipe GSX be called in Japan?

Mitsu FTO

yup, mitsubishi didn't send the eclipse to japan, because they had the Evo already, and another one of my favorite cars called the FTO. well, actually i think the FTO took the place of the Eclipse in the Japanese market. never really figured out what FTO means, but i always thought it looked better than the eclipse, mainly because it's different.



















the FTO looks kinda like a mix between a FD3S RX7, a Supra, and GTO (i.e.3000GT) all meshed into one vehicle. cool looking car nonetheless.:woot:

Yeah, in North America.

 

i mainly like the front of the FTO, but i don't really know what to make of the rear of the car. the eclipse is a well rounded vehicle. the FTO kinda takes some getting used to to really appreciate it, especially coming from america where we see the same cars everyday. but yes, the GTO (3000GT) is still better than the FTO.:woot:

 

It's weird in some pics, it looks like a Supra from the headlights, then in others it looks like an RX7. The back end looks like some f'ed up Kia. LMAO

 

The G2 eclipse was sold in Japan
