make sure on the new head gasket it wont restrict the flow in the middle there it looks like it has an extra bar going across
stock blocks look like this (not mine) and the head (also not mine) so it would do very little if anything for the coolant flow.
oh and whats this? almost done. (takes a bit to clean rust off and paint parts as you can tell) you can tell what i havent touched....

looks a lot better with the new painted parts! I agree though looks like a tricky engine bay to work on. Rust is a bitch too. Im glad I dont have to deal with it too much. P.s. - I have your same AmPro dual sided pivoting ratchet
hurts my knees most. leaning over it has my knees extended a little past straight all the time. and fitting a torque wrench in there to torque down some things is nearly impossible. i havent even tried to torque the exhaust manifold yet....

Thanks it's a 69ss it has a 400 small block bore 30 over with a 2 stage nos fogger set up 1 stage is hidden! It's my 1st car and i still own it.
