i personally have heard the the 2003 is the best year b/c its the last year before they redid the gear ratios and lowered the redline some....whats yalls thoughts?
the 04-06 redline is at 8000 rpm then the 00-03 at 9000rpm. but then someone told me the 04+ has more torque then the 03???
i think it might have a lil more either that or the torque maxes out at a lil lower rpms....but id rather have higher redline and turbo the hell outta it lol
There is more Torque on the newer ones. One thing I don't like about the newer S2K is the tail lights with the amber in it. I like the '01 S2K.
Usually the last year of any car is the best, the car manufacturers usually fix and tweak all issues and resale value is always the highest.
on one of my best motoring videos, i think it was Hot Version's "Battles at 10,000 RPM" they did a comparison of different year model S2000s. They said the newest version of the S2000 is by far the best, the handling is a lot better compared to earlier year models. they also said the new engine was tuned better. i know that those are J-Spec S2Ks, but i figure the difference between the US AP1 and the JDM AP1 shouldn't be that much since most US S2Ks are assembled in Japan, or are all of them assembled there. all of the ones they've gotten at my local dealership were assembled in Japan. in fact, i think the window sticker said 100% assembled in Japan, parts and all. anyways, with modifications, any year S2000 can be just as good, or better, than the newest model S2K.:woot: shoot, just to own an S2K would be nice...kinda gets to me when i see some 17 year old guy driving an S2K, and here I am in my Civic sedan, 23 years old with a steady job, and that's all my budget allows me. maybe i'm just jealous. lol
Man, fuck that. Don't be jealous of some punk-ass 17 year old kid and his S2k. he didn't buy that shit, his parents did. I hate seeing kids drive such expensive cars, just because their parents can afford it. there is some kid around my area driving a new Mustang Cobra. it's 100% bullshit. you just have to let it go, i guess. in time we'll all have out dream cars, but until then we just have to live with it oke:
Here's the detail: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_S2000 Thanks to Clutchone! I was wondering the same earlier!
Throttle by Wire Ok So the 2006 Model has this Drive by Wire Devices that Feels Quite Diffrent from the Later Model S2ks an to be Honest I Dont Like the Feel of It... Drive-by-Wire technology in automotive industry replaces the traditional mechanical and hydraulic control systems with electronic control systems using electromechanical actuators and human-machine interfaces such as pedal and steering feel emulators. Hence, the traditional components such as the steering column, intermediate shafts, pumps, hoses, fluids, belts and brake boosters and master cylinders are eliminated from the vehicle.
idk im gonna be making payments on a 2002 s2k and im 18....no parental help at all......i think they are all bad ass...an s2k is an s2k
