with stock internals i have seen a z6 with 250whp at 10psi? dont remember the exact psi but dont run over 10 on the stock block! the d16z6 is a great engine just if you plans are for big gains in hp i would suggest the dohc. ill type up my future turbo setup for the 250hp shortly!
as promised here is the setup: This should be good for around 250hp @ the wheels. D16z6: T3 Turbo Boost controller BOV Intercooler B18 throttle body Intake mani maybe? log header 2.5" exhaust w/Apexi N1 390cc/min injectors Adjustable fuel pressure regulator 255 lph in-tank fuel pump MSD Blaster coil and cap plugs and wires Chipped ecu And a tuning system to do it all with.. im thinking Uberdata atm and all the other stuff i forgot....
Sad you don't see many NA d-series builds anymore. There is a guy on H-T by the name of Bense that was predicting 12s with his d-series frankenmotor and custom tranny. I'm currently running a stock auto Z6 in my Sol Si daily. My S track car is using a y7/Z6 minime for now, and while it was a very strong motor it started knocking for some reason so I get to swap it to a D15B until I can swap out the pistons and rods for LS rods and PM7 pistons if it will all fit right...
n/a singlecams are great....im building one. i currently have a JG wild cam. JG valve springs and titanium retainers..P$p head 3 angle valve job and flat faced valves. on the bottom end i will run P29 pistons to raise the compression.....balance the rods, pistons, crank, and a fidanza aluminum flywheel. hopefully i can get my ITB runners finished so i can also put those on and conver to obd 0 and tune with chrome..and what im also exited is a custom header.....this motor should be perty strong.....if tuned right i dont see why i cant hit a low 13...maybe high 12's in a crx...but well see
@ digitalHorizon: never claimed it was a Ferrari :slap: @ jdmSIR: thanks but like i mentioned b4 its my "future" setup so no pics yet. not goin turbo until i can make this a project car, if i even go turbo at all. dont know yet. 250hp is an estimate, dont really care just making it fun to drive.
