What up JDMchat!? My name is Neil (if you haven't figured it out yet) and I live in Wisconsin (hey, it's not my fault! I don't even like the Packers!), and I drive an 88 CRX HF that has been converted to an SiR RHD glass top. There are lots of JDM goodies inside, and tons more on the way. explination: I bought the car, pretty much as is. I have spent the last year fixing all the mistakes the previous owner made to it. First on the list was getting it running right. What a mess. Now that that is complete, I will be working on her transformation. I know what her flaws are, and I don't really need to be reminded. However, if it makes you feel better to point out other people's imperfections, then by all means, go for it!!! About myself: I don't take anything serious. I feel that laughter is the remedy to all illness and will try to distribute equally. Some may feel i'm an a$$hole. I apologize ahead of time for your feelings. I say what's on my mind, and I don't sugar coat anything. I'm here to share my ride and experience and to learn tons more of both. Sorry for the long intro, let's get to the car, shall we? Pics are oldest to newest. Enjoy.
welcome neil! you keep popping up all over the place ever since i saw you on midwestcrx.org. love the car, hope to see it at a local meet someday too bad i missed the RA meet :ermm:
Thanks for joining. Love the CRiX. We have a couple of other members here with RHD CRXs. Enjoy the forums, I think you'll fit right in!
DAMN THAT'S A CLEAN CONVERTED CAR!!! AND YES I'M YELLING!! btw, can you show the seam where you cut your car???
The color is "desert cactus" out of the jeep liberty catalog I was told. I haven't taken the time to run the numbers and confirm that. Like I said, the car was pretty much done to this point. I've been working on drivability issues and once those are done I will continue the transformation. Right now I'm zeroing in on some Wilwood brakes, gas tank, injectors, taillights, front bumper, Sparco seats and harnesses, Mugen wheel, Mugen pedals, and a recover on the back seat. That oughtta keep me busy till spring, don't you think? Thanks for the props kids!! I'm liking the atmosphere around here as well. Thanks for the warm welcome.
glad you like it here! i agree that that color, wheel combo is hot! never seen that before! looks clean as well!:rocks:
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE Again, I apologize, I've been MIA for a while. Other than the new kid, and re-constructive shoulder surgery, I guess I must just be lazy. lol Here are the most recent additions to the rex: -I installed a new OEM Honda gas tank. It still has the Walbro 255 pump, and new OEM straps since I was under there. I got the Mugen shift knob: I got a hold of a JDM armrest. Needs some "refreshing," but for the price I couldn't pass it up: I got the VIS JDM style bumper on and painted after I obtained bumper and side markers: And last but not least, I decided on the EDM taillights for the fog light built in:
